The article makes a damn good point. I saw the results of too-high taxes in England first-hand in the late sixties. I remember one man who worked as an electronics repairman. We asked him why he didn't open his own business and his reply was that the government would just take all his profits so why bother? He could work for someone else, make less money, work fewer hours, not get ulcers and still have the same amount of money to spend. It was either that or cheat and I presume he didn't want to go to jail.
