...some distracted driver who is busy texting, runs into you or your daughter or wife on the road and kills them. We can drive defensively, but we cannot protect ourselves from idiots who are not paying attention because they feel their social interactions are more important than paying attention to the road. Sure, we can make it illegal to text or use cell phones while driving and there will be plenty of people who would ignore that law just like they ignore the don't drive and drink law.
