You still think the issue is the money. The issue is that GM's management is now exactly who the government wanted it to be, and that they no longer do anything without bending the knee to the government first.
The issue is that the government had the power to take it over in the first place. If some stranger has the power to tap your bank account for a loan whenever they want, is the most important issue there whether or not they pay it back again?
