I'm plotting again. Bought Dynex USB to parallel converter, Win7 compliant.

Installed printer
Installed patch
Plugged in the plotter to the usb
changed port in plotter control from parallel to usb.
and plotted.

I must say that the forum on the HP website was a great resource and the tech who adressed the various issues is a hero.
