Like McFly, I find the "state-issued pistol" a bit creepy too, but think as many legislators that want to should pack their own personal heat. Make things a lot more interesting for assassins. One guy in Tuscon was close to plugging the assassin with his own gun, until he realized the situation was under control and helped restrain him.
I'm waiting to hear somebody tell me that politicians with the power to control almost every aspect of our lives shouldn't be trusted with a gun. 😁
