If the public option had passed, you would have probably lost the Senate, too.
I understand how angry the Left is about the public option not getting through. The plan had been to construct legislation to deliberately destroy the private health insurance system, and force everyone to eventually move to the "public option." Presto! Socialized medicine without the discomfort of an honest democratic vote on the subject.
Without the public option, all they're getting is the destruction.
