Well.....
We COULD find alternatives. If we just opened up trade with Cuba, we'd have an additional source of labor along with Mexico, PLUS some college graduates to boot. Of course, if we boosted our OWN literacy rates and business bigwigs cut their paychecks so US workers could get more............ yeah, I think I crossed the "bullshit reality" line a while ago.
I'd like to say the US won't be inviting some of those people over again, or that China will get a rebuke, buuuuuut chances are we'll continue to play the lapdog in this relationship.
