Re: Re: The Gerbil in the Room

One of the reasons we're in the fix we're in is too many people decided something wasn't a problem yet, so why worry about it?

The Democrats could easily have passed a bill with only Medicare anti-fraud reductions in it. Why didn't they?

These 2000-page bills stuffed with poison pills and a few nice bits of frosting on top where everyone can see them are getting a bit old.

You buy insurance, using vouchers or otherwise, when you're not sick or undergoing an emergency. That's how insurance works. It's the same reason you don't start price shopping for a spare tire when your car has a flat in the rain. Unless you're an idiot.

You would think people would realize that government-run health insurance would end up exactly like the defense system - a wasteful, politically-controlled mechanism that seems to be primarily concerned with funneling tax money to politically-connected industries.

The government completely controls the defense industry, and the result is duplication, unnecessary systems, and charging ten times the money for a hammer that you could get at the hardware store.

People still following the unicorn of government-run health care badly need to get a clue.
