WI's governor turned a budget surplus into a deficit by providing deep corporate tax breaks, and then used the deficit it created as a ploy to break the unions. Yes unions were democratic leaning, and that's why this whole issue is about politics and not deficits.

If fact, conservatives are using deficits as a ruse to attack not just unions but all public employees, as well as women's rights, immigrants, the environment, health care, voting rights, food safety, pensions, prenatal care, science, public broadcasting and on and on. It's a social agenda assault they are trying to disguise as fiscal conservatism.

The backlash is coming.
