I have been. In California for many years, and nationally since January of 2007.
Oil is about to crack $100 a gallon, the world has begun to show us what it will be like under the new "humble and lovable" United States, the economy is showing what it's like when the private sector is declared Public Enemy Number One, and the Democrats have decided that losing elections means you shut down the government process. I haven't had contract work since the end of 2009.
My sense of humor has suffered a bit, but I do enjoy the pun threads.
My writing is going well (just finished my second book), but my agent has yet to actually sell something for money, which is part of the whole idea. Hopefully the second book, targeted specifically to the market, will go better.
