That, dear Jody, has been the genius of the propaganda efforts of the last 60 years. For instance, people who owe their wages to Unions, their pensions to Unions, their health insurance have turned against Unions. It's understandable, considering the amount of money spent on appealing to the basest of our emotions.

The propaganda from birth has taught us that Union excesses have lead to some people being enriched more than is "fair". That Union pension funds have been used unwisely.

And neglecting to point out how much Enron cost, WorldCom cost. They can't point out a Union pension abuse which is equal to the bonuses given failing bank presidents.

But they have persuaded middle class people to work against middle class people. It's fear someone will get a bigger bone or an undeserved bone than we are, while ignoring who is getting ALL the steaks.

The Reader's Digest, for instance. We all grew up with it. And it's hammered away at our minds forever that Unions and social services are evil.
