I posted a national political list recently, but a real eye-opener is this list that includes state spending.

Note carefully that unlike the national election list I posted before, the totals here are from one election cycle. ONE. You do the math on what outfits like the National Education Association have spent out of member dues - originating from taxpayers - over the past ten or twenty years.

Unfortunately, no balance sheet on Democratic vs. Republican donations, but some like the NEA you can make a pretty good guess. If you're curious, you can click on the names and find the balances in national elections. It's a good bet their state contributions follow similar lines.
