On the other end of that curve are millions of good, honest people who might not do as well on I.Q. tests as others might. Social problems? I know many small farm towns where I would be a lot more likely to leave my door and car unlocked than I would at an Ivy League campus.

I.Q. is useful, but not the primary marker for a good society. Just in this country we've suffered greatly from people who have been declared by their fawning worshipers as the "smartest people in the room." Of course, the people who say this are usually using the false equivalence between "educated" and "intelligent," so maybe it's not the best example.
