Hah! You laugh?
The atmosphere has already completely vanished here in California. I myself have only been saved through the foresight of modifying my house to hold pressure in case a cyclone ever hauls it into the stratosphere prior to dumping me in some Munchkin-infested Sixth World country.
I watched helplessly as my fishpond boiled away and my nice lemons exploded off their tree. All the wildlife has fled, except for coyotes which have somehow adapted to vacuum. I'm still trying to figure out how.
I have lots of stored food, many houseplants providing oxygen, and without an atmosphere even small solar panels give me all the power I need. Great stargazing at night, too.
