Tell me about it. There are a number of subjects and myths that are almost impossible to research properly, because the useful sources on search engines are utterly buried under thousands of screwball sources.
I have found a useful tool is to add something like "hoax" (among others) to the search terms, which tends to direct you to information counter to the screwballs.
That's how I quickly got to this site, among others.
