Coupla thoughts.

In his article on how Libertarianism is gaining, growing and the country is adopting it's ideals, he doesn't seem to follow through. Look what he says about terrorism.

"Ironically, the 9/11 attacks constituted a massive failure of government to do the main thing libertarians call upon government to do--protect us. Yet far from seriously examining that failure, officials rushed to acquire ever more power over American citizens, with marginal gains in security."

So, terrorism strikes, and the government institutes more controls over the population, none of which, by the way, would have prevented the attack.

How is that a gain for Libertarianism?

Second, regarding Social Security and privatization.

How is the government forcing investment in private stocks increasing personal liberty?

And, increasing the amount of money available to buy stocks, which WILL purchase stocks will not do anything except drive up the price of stocks. If you pump several more trillions of dollars into the stock market, competing with the money already there, guess what?

The price will go up. Not value, price. Guess why the good ol' organ grinder Cheney and his little monkey want to do that.

What's Libertarian about that.

You know, when the FHA came along to finance housing, a noble idea, the price of houses skyrocketed because there was more money to buy them. Didn't cost more to build, cost more to buy though. Government interference some would say.

Now somehow people forget that Social Security came along as the result of the stock market CRASHING. People were poor, broke, had nothing. Because the STOCK MARKET CRASHED.

I remember the presidential candidates being asked who would make up the money if stocks went down.

Nope. Privatization of Social Security is another gambit of the wealthy to scam the poorer. Not hard to tell that, Cheney & Co. are for it.

Globalization - expanding the worlds economy. Seems to mean the poorer countries will supply cheap labor and a market for the richer countries products, and increased dividends. When globalization means lower dividends tariffs are instituted.

As the author noted, not particularily Libertarian. I don't understand how Libertarianism is gaining. Not when there are more laws, fewer freedoms, bigger government, and deficit spending which will go through the roof.

And, it's a great idea. Wish it would work.
