We need case-cutters.

When Abe Lincoln was told that US Grant drank too much, Lincoln is alleged to have replied, "Get all of my generals a case of whatever Grant drinks!"

WTC was an absolutely brilliant operation. Well, not that brilliant, but between their smarts and our stupidity, it was arguably the most successful military or terrorist action the world has ever seen.

(The 19 casualties they suffered does seem to be more combat casualties than the US has suffered in this war, though, if one leaves out "friendly fire".)

Instead of crowing "don't bring case-cutters to a jihad" I'd rather see our guys given case-cutters.

And, no matter what happens so far, I don't think there are significantly fewer of them, we brag about every 1 or 2 they may kill, and get 4 or 5 civilians in the process.

Whatver else, the entire might of the US has not "got" OBL so far. And it's not for trying, it's just a demonstration that the Sceptres, the gunships, the thermobaric bombs, the "smart" bombs ain't quite up to it.

We need other tools. Our people are smart, well-motivated, educated, and tough enough. They need other tools, too. I know that doesn't make sense if one thinks guns will cure violence, and when brute force doesn't work, maybe getting smarter will.
