I'll admit the bit about cutting her throat for the money in the safe seems over the top but who knows what his tone and expression were at the time.
She was obviously giving some deference to his ethnicity by ignoring the sexist comments and if you think about it you would expect a man involved in a major plot against the USA would try to be unobtrusive and less abrasive.
Pre-911 most folks would have let it pass. I'll bet not many would now. As bad as we seem to bungle it will be a helluva lot harder to pull off by anyone running their mouth like that.
