Re: slights of the News Hour

<About "leftist" leanings:

I'm not sure that's true. Do you have an example of a more balanced news source?

One would think that the Public Broadcasting System would tend to "select" for liberal bias, since only those who believed in the validity of tax-supported broadcasting would want to work there in the first place.

For the record, I would not support taxpayer-funded conservative broadcasting either.

The Online Newshour comments on this itself here. Obviously, as Goldberg showed, they do not think they are biased. The comments here avoid some real facts:

- Only 6 percent of the media identify themselves as conservative.

- Media personnel do constantly identify people as "conservative," and rarely if ever identify similar people on the opposing sides as "liberal."

The second-to-last comment in the article is a particular hoot:

Liz Robinson of Boulder, Colorado asks:

How could one suggest liberal bias with a straight face? What corporate media is owned by a liberal company? The myth of liberal media was invented by the radical rigid right.

"Radical rigid right?" Bet five bucks she's no Republican. Aside from the idiotic myth that all corporations are run by conservatives, what the hell is Ted Turner? Not exactly the vanguard of the right wing, that's for sure.

Naturally, Kalb agrees with her. Again, as Goldberg pointed out, he honestly believes his leftist views to be "mainstream."
