I rented the flick on a whim while in Italy, c1988 -- and watched it 4 times!
Centauri (Robert Preston): “Alex! Alex! You're walking away from history! History, Alex! Did Chris Columbus stay home? No-o-o. What if the Wright Brothers thought that only birds should fly? And did Galupa think that the Ulus were too ugly to save?”
Alex Rogan (Lance Guest): “Who's Galupa?
Centauri: “Never mind.”
Alex Rogan: “Listen, Centauri. I-I'm not any of those guys... I'm a kid from a trailer park.”
Centauri: “If that's what you think, then that's all you'll ever be...”
The Last Starfighter -- LAME?!?!
Alex: “One gunstar...? ...Against the whole armada?! It'll be a slaughter!”
Grig (Dan O'Herlihy): “That's the spirit!”
Alex: “No, my slaughter!”
Overall, a very enjoyable family flick, currently taking up earned space on my shelf,
