You had better keep the phone on silent ring...Especially if your in a meeting full of higher-ups.

It is considered extreemly rude to interupt a business meeting where the CFO or CEO is present. They don't like wasteing their high-paid time listening to one side of a meaningless conversation. Anyone who thinks that their cell phone going off in a meeting is something that makes them look professional is out of touch with reality. If fact, a mis-timed cell phone ring just might end someone's career or chance at a promotion. I've seen it happen first hand.

I will grant you that, if I were in a meeting full of surgeons, I might reasonably expect a beeper or cell phone to go off...But even then, it could have been set on "Silent" or "vibrate" ring...If the meeting was very important, I would be offended.
