And why exactly would Bush promote views opposite to his own? If Gore was president, would these same complainers be suddenly urging him to make sure pro-life and pro-business scientists were given equal time? Hell, no. In fact, if President Gore had suddenly decided such views needed to be represented in science committees, or even in judge or Supreme Court Justice selection, the Democratic Party would have burned him at the stake.

The Left screams about "fairness" and "equality of viewpoints" only when their viewpoint is not monopolizing the field any more. When the Left has a total monopoly, everything is fine, since of course according to them, they are totally correct and opposing views would just annoy everyone.
