Rabbi Gilles Bernheim about "certainties"
An interesting article from a french Rabbi in the magazine "Marianne"
Certainties are the incapacity to withstand the relativity of human things. As if the universe would unveil itself under the simple confrontation of good and evil. Shouldn't we remind that a happy community of men and women doesn't manifest itself in exaltation but in sobriety, lucidity and friendship which attest themselves in man's propension to share the world with other men. Let's not forget societies often die from their certainties.
