Some people would say that if the attackers were trying to free the world from people who slaughter innocent civilians, and if they thought someone might have shot at one of them earlier, it's just dandy to kill 'em all. That'll teach 'em.

And some people might say that it was a colossal screwup on all sides. Maybe our side shouldn't have been so triggerhappy. Maybe the victims should break themselves of the habit of firing celebration shots in the direction of nervous, heavily-armed warplanes. Maybe--and this is my take on it--we aren't hearing the whole story.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can lay hands on the final report on this incident, which apparently came out a little while back. I have had no luck, and I know how to look. It is apparently being suppressed by all concerned, the UN and the U.S. military, which is quite odd considering that if it incriminates the U.S., the U.N. and the anti-Americans could make hay from it, and conversely, if it shows that there was a just cause for the attack, our military would want that trumpeted. What gives? Maybe both sides come off looking a little bad here?
