Creationism and life.

Just thinking. Creationism. The belief that God created the world in six 24 hour days and rested on the 7th.

By limiting God to 24 hour days, aren’t they really telling God how it’s done, claiming to know the mind of God even better than God? Because God CANNOT have longer or shorter days than that, according to these people. Crazy, huh? To tell God how to do it!!?? Some would say arrogant.

And aren’t these the people who are the backbone of political conservativism? And isn't this the sort of base upon which a conservative philosophy is built? I mean, the people who really advocate such politicians as, say, GWB and John Ashcroft? Aren’t these the Bushes and Ashcrofts, period?

Now, what kind of political philosophy can be built upon such arrogant, know better than God, unstable ground? A coherent philosophy, one which respects rationality, for instance?

Obviously not. Build upon quicksand, and you wind up with all manner of “fixes”. Think irrationally, and you wind up with all manner of “fixes”.

For instance, you wind up with a very, very firm idea as to the nature of “evil”, and can’t define it. So, the "fix" is to say evil is whatever is not good, or that you'll recognize it if you see it. What kind of a universal moral code is that. I mean based not upon standards, but one person recognizing it?

They wind up trying to look at the world as black and white, and find all manner of “evil” which isn’t black and white. And then there's another irrational "fix". Well, it wasn't really him, it was people using his name. And if it was people using his name, they were hired by him, directed by him, accountable to him. And he's not accountable. That's the "fix".

Well, Kermit the Frog used to say that life isn’t easy if you’re green. Life isn’t easy, either, if you try to build it on craziness, or think it’s all black or white. After all, there would be no Kermit if that were true.
