Mr Paul is a sort of Utopian Libertarian, sort of the right wing analogue (or should I say 'mirror reflection'?) of a Fabian Socialist. He is the result of a few perceptive ideas carried out to their extreme and illogical conclusion.
He does have a sort of Pied Piper quality about him though, eagerly followed by the well-scrubbed, crew-cutted, skinny necktied preppy spawn of suburbia, playing at Entrepreneur just like their parents played at Revolutionary. Except these aren't the ones at war with the one percent. These are the ones that thought they could be one percenters.
The Republican establishment may just find out that they're stuck with him, or Gingrich, come August. It's another Weimar moment. Sure, they're useful now, but "when the time comes, we'll be able to control them."
It sounds like "famous last words", doesn't it?
