College has NEVER been affordable. The rich and the middle class has always had a subsidy. Tuition was just enough to keep out the riff-raff so they couldn't get a share of the gravy.

It's just that nowadays, the threshold of riff-raff has been changing, the middle class is no longer getting their subsidy. So what should they do, "Take a bath and get a job?"
