Of course not, and I'm sorry if it seems I'm picking on you. I'm really not. But I do apologize.
I just really get pissed off at this smug "I've got mine and tough shit for you, jack" " attitude that seems to be taking over this country.
Take a bath and get a job."
"No one put a gun to your head and made you get that mortgage."
"People getting unemployment have an incentive not to get a job."
"It's time those People took responsibility for their actions."
I guess I feel a little guilty because I am fairly prosperous, not rich, but out of debt and with a modest income and savings. I worked hard for that, But I got help, too. I got help with my mortgage, with my health insurance, and especially with my college, just because I was in the military for a year.
But no one pays for all their college. No one. If you can afford to go its because the taxpayers, some of whom don't have the benefit of that education, are paying part of your way. Anyone who can afford tuition, the price of admission, gets subsidized by the state to some extent. NOBODY earns all their college, everyone who goes was on welfare, because even if they paid full tuition the state picks up part of the tab.
When people who go to college and get good jobs because of it say "no one deserves to go unless they pony up the entrance fee" it really pisses me off. I know that without government help I never would have gone, and I know I probably would be stuck in some shit job right now, working for one of those smug bastards, if I was lucky enough to have a job at all.
I know how lucky I am, and these people who think they did it all on their own because their daddy could afford to send them to college really, really, really piss me off.
I guess I feel,
like I owe it,
to someone.
