-- Wealthiest 1% pay 3.6% of income in tax

-- Poorest 20% pay 14% of income in tax

By George, I think you've got it! The percentage of income is NOT the same thing as tax paid. Given those numbers, someone who makes $1 million would pay $36,000 in taxes. Someone making $25,000 would pay $3,500 in taxes, or about 1/10 what the rich guy pays. And you can bet that this statistic includes Federal Social Security payments, which tend to overburden lower-income people, but then the Democrats LIKE the program just the way it is.

Naturally, this means nothing to a Soak The Rich type, who figures that the rich guy has too damn much money anyway, and the sooner we kill and eat him, the better.

But of course the latter is just a guess, since the Left never shows the actual numbers on anything.
