Re: And more manure.

<When a poor kid dies for Iraqi oil, he dies protecting how much of his parents property, and how much of GWB's property?

Should his parents pay the same to protect their $500,000 as GHWB and Barbara pay to have their $500 million protected? I mean, shouldn't someone with, say, $500 million pay more in insurance than someone with $500 thousand?

Which has, like so many of your little non-sequitors, jack shit to do with the subject of taxation, or don't you think over a trillion a year in wealth redistribution is karma enough? If you really want to get silly about it, we could point out that the rich are the ones paying for all the tanks, planes, uniforms, ships, guns, and other multi-billion dollar crap that does more than its share to help defend America, and incidentally keep little Johnny alive in the face of overwhelming numbers of nasty types.

For what it's worth, George Bush the Elder did more than his bit in the military, so maybe you socialists might grudgingly agree that according to your bizarre math that at least he did something to protect his own wealth?

Or, through shelters, should they pay less, or nothing?

The typical leftist has no real working forebrain, which is why consistency and logical contradictions bother them not in the least. This is why, without even breaking a sweat, they can simultaneously bitch about the rich paying no taxes, and then scream that any small percentage cuts in the taxes paid by the rich will totally bankrupt the nation.

Get serious. It's a system, and the people who have the most should pay for it. That do mean the rich, though they are averse to paying for anything. Expect the poor to carry them along.

A system. I guess that's one way to put it. I think we know who's really carrying who in this country.

I think what really chaps my ass is not so much that the wealthy (which is pretty much anyone with more money than someone else has) carry most of the tax weight in this country. After all, like bank robbers of old, the looters reason that that's where the money is, and where else would you expect them to go?

No, what really gets to me is the expectation that we should be HAPPY to drain our veins for whatever bureaucratic parasite wants to get all the credit for passing it on to whoever they're trying to impress that day. That we should get down on our knees and be THANKFUL for the opportunity to pour out our lives to help fatass politicians buy the votes they need to stay in power.

After the Left sucks us almost dry they get pissed at the very idea that we might resent it. How dare we be so selfish and mean-spirited?

(Geez, I usually don't get this worked up about my tax bite until the middle of April...)
