<Almost a good point. Except that much of gun violence is gang and drug related. This violence is predominantly intra-ethnic, not due to ethnic mixing.
The point is not who's doing the violence to who. The point is that the violence is related directly to ethnic groups, and their difficulties in integrating with the larger culture. Subtract out all the black and Hispanic gangs and see what's left of the violence statistics.
Immigration is pouring into Europe now. What's happening to the violence statistics?
As far as I know, absolutely nothing. Got any statistics for back-up?
Immigration was rocketing in US too until very recently. What's been happening to crime rate?
Well, folks, its been declining. Is there any correlation whatsoever?
Well, I couldn't find the original statistics, but this article says:
...Last year, London saw more serious assaults, armed robberies, and car thefts than New York; 2002 could see London's murder rate exceed the Big Apple's.
The same pattern can be seen throughout Europe-indeed, in much of the developed world. Crime has recently hit record highs in Paris, Madrid, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Toronto, and a host of other major cities. In a 2001 study, the British Home Office (the equivalent of the U.S. Department of Justice) found violent and property crime increased in the late 1990s in every wealthy country except the United States. American property crime rates
have been lower than those in Britain, Canada, and France since the early 1990s, and violent crime rates throughout the European Union, Australia, and Canada have recently begun to equal and even surpass those in the United States. Even Sweden, once the epitome of cosmopolitan socialist prosperity, now has a crime victimization rate 20 percent higher than that of the United States.
I'm not sure if his reasoning on causes is correct, but the statistics are there. As for American crime statistics, maybe they had nowhere to go except improvement.
Not sure why you thought your post was in major disagreement...it seems to agree with me more often than not. I certainly would not have accused your comments of being "anti-American."
It has become fashionable to accuse anyone who even mentions race in connection with human behavior of being an Instant Klansman. Unfortunately, this means a lot of things aren't getting studied that should be.
