Elections

Daschle wasn't elected Senate Majority Leader, using a trick to get the position, but I don't hear liberals bitching about that. The Democratic candidate for Senate from New Jersey was not the person that was selected by the voters in the primary, and I don't hear anyone bitching about that either.

The media spent a huge load of cash recounting all the ballots after the 2000 Florida election. They recounted all the ballots in the counties that Gore had wanted recounts in. Bush still won. They moved to other counties, and changed the counting rules. Bush still won. They went to the entire state, changed the counting rules again, and finally got a scenario where Gore might have won.

The point being, of course, that had the entire Supreme Court fallen dead of heart attacks, and the Gore recount in his hand-picked counties had gone to its final conclusion, Bush would still be President.

The entire Supreme Court/Bush thing is a flatout lie, an urban myth supported by the Left for its own political purposes, like most of their lies.

Assuming any of these facts have the slightest chance of soaking in, get over it already.

If the situation had been exactly reversed, with Bush getting a majority of the popular vote and Gore winning by a Supreme Court decision, tell me that all these bitching liberals would not have wrapped themselves in the Constitution and the Electoral College, and called it a good and wise decision. Moral indignation is not a good fit on a Democrat where elections are concerned. The moral compass of the Democratic politician is toward whatever wins. Save it for the rubes.
