The liberal elitism and condescension of the writer himself oozes from almost every sentence--I wonder if he even realizes it--but there is some insight worth reading here.

The conclusion still seems to be that Republicans have to be stupid and that they are simply too stupid to vote for the intellectuals that by all rights should be ruling them. A bunch of hayseeds. That Americans may not be stupid, but may simply see Republican ideas as superior to Democratic ones is inconceivable to a liberal. The idea that the Left's philosophy may actually be as brilliantly wrong as a phlogiston chemist cannot even be considered. That way lies the abyss.
