Mouseketeer Annette

Tom Brosz — 11/12/2002 6:29:36 PM (archived)

Annette Funicello was famous for being one of Disney's Mousketeers on the Mickey Mouse Club TV show. During the run of the series, she hit puberty like Sherman hit Georgia, and her rapidly shrinking Mousketeer sweater became a well-known joke in America. Unfortunately, I was about five or six when this happened. I was still a big fan, though, and according to my folks spent a lot of time in front of the TV with my little plastic ears on.

For the record, Annette is currently afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis (as is my wife), and she figures prominently in supporting research on this disease.
