In the heat of our verbal battles, while you spit out your opinions, I have often made a smart remark about how your wife puts up with you.
And I must not have known you are caring for a woman who is handicapped with multiple sclerosis.
I sincerely apologize for these remarks now, knowing what you have to go through on a daily basis.
It was only done in jest, and you won't hear anything else along this vein from me.
