Yes, a lot of draftees died in the line of service. So did a lot of volunteers. Whether they died on their first day of combat or after their 3rd tour of duty, they still died in the line of duty. For every one that died, several more were wounded. I have nothing but respect for them all, draftee or volunteer alike.
