But I still favor decriminalizing drugs to take the profit out and possibly legalizing MJ. Took me a long time to come around to this but we are losing the drug war and I haven't heard any workable ideas to turn it around

Spend the money we are dumping on enforcement and use it to propagandize the public against drugs. Make it hard on all public substance abusers and especially repeat offenders. Clamp down on public intoxication (with a higher level than the DUI laws). Taking away the right to vote for specified periods would work well on middleclass users. Make hard drug users register as addicts and give them the drugs dirt cheap. Registered addicts should be public knowledge.
