The penalty for DUI would have to be made far tougher than it is now. I've lost several friends and two relatives to drunken idiotsand their idea of a good time. The thought of adding millions of pot heads onto the roads doesn't set well with me at all.
The penalty for driving while under the influence should be along the lines of attempted manslaughter. Anyone convicted of DUI should immediately be sent to prison for several years for their callous and life endangering actions. The senseless deaths of 40,000+ people a year on our roads, all because some people want to party and have a good time, must stop. The thought of using a rattan cane to beat them within an inch of their life wouldn't seem out of line either.
