I am more than willing to give Clinton a lot of the credit for NAFTA. Unlike with welfare reform, Clinton was not dragged into this but was one of the main promoters. Although the free trade agreement was a complex dog's breakfast that had and still has a lot of problems, the basic concept of removing trade barriers was a good one.
