Actually, I thought of a big example last night myself. It was the Carter Administration that deregulated the trucking, rail, and airline industries. Regardless of what some grumblers might say about airline service nowadays, these actions were highly beneficial to both consumers and the transporation industry. All that's left now is deregulating airports.
