Nobody questions your right to disagree, they just question your motives.

I can appreciate that France, Germany, and Belgium have a different perspective than the United States on protecting the United States from Terrorist attacks.

France, Germany and Belgium are doing their best to protect themselves from terrorist attack, and they can probably achieve that goal through appeasement and by putting separation between themselves and the United States. They think if they go along with the US, then they will become as big a target, or at least a surrogate target, as the US already is, and they are probably correct in this assessment.

The US however, has no choice: We are, and will remain the biggest target for every wantabe terrorist in the world. So if France would rather play both sides, fine. Just quit attacking our "Cowboy/Unilateralist" attitude and realize that we WILL NOT accept "peace" on the terrorists (Ie. The Axis of Evil's) terms...

We will take it to the terrorists without France, Germany, Belgium, and if need be, without the United Nations. Because we now realize that we will be attacked both rhetorically and with real violence either way. So there's nothing here to negotiate until after the war(s).
