I think you, and others, should examine the concept of an erstwhile ally - significant, for example, in your war of independence, who has doubts about your present strategy.
No such reluctance was expressed in the first Gulf War - French aircraft flew attack missions as part of the consortium.
Maybe you should ask WHY they have such doubts now?
