when Roger Alterman wished that Rush Limbaugh had gone deaf?
How about when Spike Lee claimed he wanted to shoot Charlton Heston?
REMEMBER THE WAVE of outrage that swept the nation after Charlton Heston, the president of the National Rifle Association, told a radio interviewer that the best way to deal with liberal filmmaker Spike Lee would be to "shoot him with a .44-caliber Bulldog" revolver? Remember how newspaper editorials scathingly condemned Heston's appalling remark? Remember the full-page ads blasting the twisted mindset that leads conservatives like Heston to say such grotesque things?
You don't remember? Don't feel bad. It never happened. Heston never spoke those words about Lee.
Lee spoke them about Heston.
Or when George Clooney mocked Heston's Alzheimer's condition.
Or when Alex Baldwin inciting a crowd to go murder people he opposed politically, only to later claim he was 'just kidding.'
But for sheer poison, nothing compares with the diatribe uncorked by Alec Baldwin on the Conan O'Brien show. A liberal activist and staunch Clinton supporter, the actor was condemning the Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee.
"If we were in other countries," he shouted, "we would all right now, all of us together -- all of us together would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! Wait! . . . I'm not finished. We would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and we'd kill their wives and their children! We would kill their families!"
Nah, none of that could possibly have happened, since all of those (and many, many more) would be examples of hate-filled speech by liberals, and we all know that liberals are full of love for everyone. Just ask one, he/she'll tell you how loving they are.
