Traveling through time...

one sees the human condition in all its glory and ignominy.

I watch men rise up to new heights of understanding and sink into the pits of confusion and emotion.

Good and evil can be juxtaposed across a broad spectrum of interpretations based upon the development and position of any individual.

Roosevelt was considered by many an evil dupe for letting Britain and Churchill lure our relief efforts into a combat zone and turning the US into a non-neutral combatant.

Wilson entered a war, saved some dissolute nations who later scorned his presence, and died a brokenhearted and dispirited shell of a man. His dreams of a world body to prevent war were scorned by all nations and peoples and his cross country journey to support the League of Nations was to be the death of him.

Ignorance thy name is earth.

Of course it is only ignorance when one has secured a more complete understanding of life.

Are these folks ignorant?

They are beating their backs with chains. Others were hitting swords on top of their heads.

If someone saw a single individual performing such an act in the streets of New York or Los Angeles - they would be judged insane and locked up in a sanitarium for their own protection.

However, when we see a whole bunch of people performing unintelligent acts - we call it "cultural distinctions."

Yes the human consciousness is as vastly disproportionate in terms of comparable development.

Many folks on the left have a hard time comprehending a world in which all humans are not inherently equal, when all evidence, all things around us everywhere, paint a planet sized mural to the folly of such a false assumption.

No one on this world is equal with another.

No one.

Equality is not the same as humanity. Equal rights under the law is not the same as human equality.

Many people, even here in the US, really have not spent much time thinking about the vast expanses which cover human development.

Evolution is a word we use to describe nature and animals and fail to see that our fellow humans are animals too - and some are more evolved than others.

The only person in a position to judge good and evil in this expansive framework of human evolution is that person themselves.

Bush's actions will be judged not by the world at large or by the people of the US - but in the final reckoning of his own personal evolution - it is he, himself, who will determine whether his actions were constructive or destructive.

After one has traveled through time for many centuries, one soon sees that all actions are both evil and good. And that the good of today becomes the evil of tomorrow. In an evolving world this is the only possible way all events exist - and are constantly re-evaluated by ever greater amounts of information and intelligence.

All one can do is what one believes is good at the moment. If Bush genuinely believed his actions were for a greater good - then they were. If however he was acting out of some negative desires than they were not.

History, all the events unfolding now in Iraq, or anyone else's opinions will not ever change that basic truth.

This is why true leadership is so very difficult. Each believes in their own goodness and in their own correctness.

Judging the billions of humans which pass through this world is not productive. Each is unique and their own dataset will determine their actions throughout their life.

Any planet leader must take into account the greater collective good for their nation and the world. It must choose courses of actions which restrict certain actions and control others - laws.

The most evolved will realize that even the most primitive and barbaric actions are learning experiences for the lesser evolved and will not judge them, but in their quest to preserve a societal structure which is progressive and constructive they will enact laws or even wage wars against these lesser humans and attempt to control their actions anyway.

Such is the curse of the leader:

Moderating government and its actions in a manner to try and bring about the greatest good for all involved.

The reality of nature is that the greatest villains return to become great heroes and vice-versa. In a polarized world, where good and evil are interpreted by each person's development, we will often find that heroes and villains are simply interpretive titles that don't paint the true picture - the one painted by the individual for himself.

A world of violent people can find a successfully violent person a great hero. The same person can be viewed very differently by another group.

Bush is neither saint nor devil. Anyone who seeks to turn him into an icon of either is only using a small portion of their intellectual bandwidth.

Good and evil are positive and negative biases attached to events by human consciousness.

In about 125 years this will be realized by a greater portion of the evolving masses of humanity.
