When one claims to be "good", even indirectly or between lines, I'm very suspicous.
It's like claiming "my country is the best, greatest, most free or whatever in the world".
It implies all the other countries are not as such.
Or being patriotic is also a message to the other countries.
I think one has to have roots from various parts of the world and travel a lot to feel the vanity of those values.
There's good and bad all over the world.
