Does anyone have any psychological problem with the suggestion that meandering rivers and canyons can form on Mars now, and without any large quantities of water (h2o) - provided we can clearly show:
1) images with meanders being formed
2) images of canyons that may have been formed quite recently in martian history
3) one or more mechanisms where these this could happen
In additon does anyone mind these images, several which clearly show the fluids involved doing this work, being published?
Finally, If we were to suggest that at least some of the ancient river systems may have formed in the same way - therefore water did/does not have to be plentiful on Mars as the main contributor - is this a psychological problem for anyone??
(in actual fact our calculations imply a 100m deep ocean of water the size of north america may have existed - but we can probably show that only 1/100th this amount is required to get canyons and that they can form on Mars today with much less water involved)
Now that is sure to raise everyone hackles!
