Re: Greenland bwas/b a Green Land . . .

I know much of N America has been having colder winters recently, but here in SW Canada they have been much milder... I remember most every winter when I was a kid was long, cold and very snowy. Now, green Christmasses are not uncommon. Increased moisture and milder temperatures can combine to produce huge snowfalls higher up in the mountains, though, as we had in the winter of 1998-99.

Mt. Baker record snow

(Mt. Baker is just a few miles south of the Canada-US border in Washington State. While the mountains had tons of snow, in the valleys it was just rain, rain, rain.)
