Degree days

Are a good way of measuring time above zero. This is used on Earth for agricultural studies of growing seasons and timing of spring.

One degree day is either one degree for an entire day, or ten degrees for 1/10 day, or any equivalent combination.

Note that they make comparisons to Earth environments with similar conditions.
