Finally, the weather cooperated!

After more than a year of frustration, having clouds come in every single time there were aurora or other special sky events forecast, we finally had a clear night on the west coast of Canada and the show was incredible! We were out from 1:45 until almost 3:00, then the rest of the family went to bed and I watched for another half hour. The action was sporadic, minutes without anything then many close together, I think we saw about 500-600 in an hour. There were 3 bright green ones between 3 and 3:30 including one whose smoke trail lingered for 15 or 20 minutes. One earlier was a skip, going bright, then dim, then flaring for a final burst.
Yeah!!
