Pre-western values. We forget and associate Christianity with Western values because it has been so for a while, but the bit paradigm switch came as free inquiry revealed knowledge that eventually escaped the strangelhold of The Church. Unlike with Islam, the Church in all its various forms lost its secular dominance. The fundamental Islam we see today or the Christian Fundamentalist Far Right we see represents a return to pre-mideavil thinking.
